Lane 'really impressed' by Price 3YO

Michael Kent Jnr says they will 'dive into the spring' with talented three-year-old Snow Patrol after his eye-catching debut win at Ladbrokes Park Sandown on Wednesday.

The son of Contributer, who was described by Kent Jnr as a horse the stable 'had to have' at the sales, sat three-wide with Damian Lane on board and put away a smart field of maiden gallopers.

Cox Plate-nominated Wolfy, who started $1.80 following an impressive debut at Caulfield, was unplaced.

Snow Patrol was purchased for $170,000 out of a ready to run sale.

"I remember it very well, Mick (Price) and I were both there, worked the entire sale, had all the information and he was the one horse we had to buy and we bought him," Kent Jnr said.

"It was a very impressive win. I thought it was a very strong maiden. To sit deep and keep finding and be strong past the post was very impressive.

"He works up like a smart horse. A mile and beyond will be very nice for him.

"He has exceeded expectations a little bit. We will dive into the spring and see what unfolds."

Lane was also left 'really impressed'.

"He was pretty raw still," Lane said.

"He was really challenged in the straight and he dug deep. He showed some attributes of a nice horse in the making.

"Hopefully he can hold together and go towards some nicer races."
