Rich Hill Stud’s attractive daughter of Vadamos will be on her way to Victoria after she was knocked down to respected bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo on Day 2 of New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.

Following a spirited bidding duel at Karaka, the hammer fell at $260,000 for Lot 230, with future classic hopes held for the filly.

“I bought her for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr. I loved her from the day I saw her at the farm, she’s a beautiful filly and a graceful mover,” Cataldo said.

“I love Vadamos and the way this filly moved and hopefully she will be an Oaks type. I was happy to get her, perhaps a little more than we were hoping to pay, but at the end of the day you have to dig deep for them.”

The youngster is a half-sister to the G3 Wellington Cup winner Soleseifei and their dam is the unraced Van Nistelrooy mare Evaline.

“Soleseifei has a filly foal by Almanzor and went back to him so there’s a bit of upside there as well,” Cataldo said.

Evaline is a half-sister to the G1 Sydney Cup winner Gallic and a pedigree rich in black type, which features the three-time Group One winner Solveig as the third dam and further down the page is the G1 Australian Derby winner Jon Snow.
